What a creative use of public space: currency! The
Dogwood Initiative has taken direct marketing to a new level. With the use of our Loonie, Dogwood has developed a medium of communications that encapsulates both it's message and website into a single image: notankers.ca. Love it. Well done Dogwood.

It's also a crime to deface currency. Note sure I would advertise it.
Hey Jason, hope all is well. Yah, it's actually a plastic that "attaches" without an adhesive. I was theorizing with a few friends about this one. The guy that runs the show over there is a lawyer and my guess is they figured out a way to do this type of advertising safely ...

Thanks for posting on this! You're right on the money. When we launched the loonie campaign in early 2009 Canadian Mint made a bit of an issue of it. But once they realized it wouldn't stick they simply let the issue drop.
